Activists of the Lok Raj Sangathan organised a militant protest action on November 1, 2011, to mark the 27th anniversary of the state organised genocide of Sikhs. The rally was held outside the busy Chhatrpati Shivaji Terminus in the Fort area of Mumbai. Tens of thousands of copies of a leaflet issused by the Mharashtra Committee of the Lok Raj Sangathan were distributed to the working people as they were returning from their work to catch the local trains.
The protest action was supported by the Sikh Forum, as well as trade unions from the Western and Central Railways, Air India, Post and Telegraph, Resident Doctors, and so on. A large contingent of Sikhs participated in the action with candles held aloft. Among the prominent personalities who participated in the action were Dr Matthew Abraham, Dr Sanjeewani Jain, and Mahesh Jethmalani.
Activists of the Lok Raj Sangathan joind by trade union leaders of different sectors of the economy also distributed the statement in various working class colonies of the city and of Thane.
Reports have also come in of protest rallies organised by the Lok Raj Sangathan in Nawanshahr, Punjab, and in Sirsa, Haryana.
