Welfare Party of India held a mass rally and public meeting in New Delhi on 18th April under the title “Bharat Desh: Sabka Desh”. Thousands of people from all over India marched from Mandi House to Parliament Street shouting militant slogans demanding an end to the atmosphere of fear and hatred created by the ruling government and increasing attacks on all sections of people, rapes, lynching and murders. Speakers pointed out that by polarising the people, the ruling circles are aiming to divert the attention of people from pressing issues and tke their policies and programs forward to benefit vested interests.
A delegation from Lok Raj Sangathan participated in the rally and public meeting and welcomed efforts of WPI to raise burning issues facing the people through an all-India campaign.
