With deep sorrow, Lok Raj Sangathan mourns the passing away of Comrade Fidel Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, on Friday November 25, 2016. He was 90 years of age at the time of his passing away.

We express our profound condolences to Comrade Raul Castro, to the Communist Party of Cuba and the entire Cuban people, and to the family of Comrade Fidel Castro on this sad occasion.
The Cuban Revolution that Comrade Fidel Castro led, and which is still continuing, has ensured freedom, dignity and social progress for the Cuban people. It inspired a political process where people played a direct role in the selection and election of their representatives and in taking part in decision making.
Comrade Fidel will always be remembered for his profound internationalism, his humanism, his commitment to principles. The words and deeds of Comrade Fidel Castro will live forever as a shining example for the empowerment of people.
