A militant demonstration was organised on 27 June 2016 at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, against the decision of the Central Government to further open the economy to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Hundreds of workers, youth and women activists participated in the demonstration.
The demonstration was organised at the initiative of Communist Ghadar Party of India (CGPI), Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M), Socialist Unity Center of India – Communist (SUCI-Communist), Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist), Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and All India Forward Block (AIFB).
The speakers addressing the demonstration condemned the decision on FDI as an anti-social and anti-national policy which is against the interest of workers, peasants, small business, shopkeepers, and is a threat to the security sovereignty of our country.
