The Communist Ghadar Party of India condemns the murderous attacks that took place in Paris on the evening of November 13, 2015, resulting in the death of over 120 people and grievous injuries to hundreds more. The CGPI also condemns the terrorist attack in Beirut, Lebanon on November 12, 2015, in which 43 people died and over 200 people injured. Earlier in October, nearly 100 people were killed and many injured in the Turkish capital Ankara in suicide bomb attacks. The CGPI extends its deep sympathies to the families of all those who have suffered as a result of such heinous crimes.
These crimes are unjustifiable. They have as their target, the working people, who are not in any way responsible for the state terrorism and wars unleashed by the US and its allies.
The French government, as well as the imperialist controlled media have blamed a group operating in Syria and Iraq for the Paris killings. This has been used as a justification for dramatically escalating its military intervention in Syria.
France has launched massive bomb attacks on Syria, in coordination with the US, Britain and other NATO allies. At the G-20 Conference in Turkey, the NATO powers headed by US resolved to further escalate its military intervention in Syria to overthrow the Assad regime.
Within France, the government has declared a state of emergency. The people of the Muslim faith are being targeted for savage persecution. Massive propaganda has been unleashed against the refugees who are in Europe having fled Syria and other war zone countries of West Asia and North Africa, as if they are responsible for the killings. The government of Poland has declared it will not accept any refugees.
The working people of France and all other countries must be extremely vigilant that their governments do not step up repressive measures and further curtail the rights of people, in the name of “war against terrorism”. During the G-20 deliberations in Turkey, President Barack Obama of the US, the British Prime Minister Cameron, the French Prime Minister and other such leaders openly spoke about such measures that their governments were considering to further curtail the rights of people.
It is very important that the Indian people think out in a cool and calm manner as to what lies behind the brutal killings in Paris and other places. We must not fall prey to the propaganda of the imperialists which is repeated day in and day out in the media.
It is well known that a bloody civil war is raging in Syria for the past over five years, in which lakhs of people have been killed and millions turned into refugees. We must also remember that US and its NATO allies — France, Britain, Turkey etc, as well as Saudi Arabia have intervened openly in Syria to carry out regime change. They have armed and financed numerous groups in Syria, as they have been doing in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and many other countries.
We must also remember that there is growing opposition in Europe and North America to these unjust military interventions. Even after the horrific events in Paris, voices have been raised in France against the military intervention in Syria.
The policy of regime change pursued by the US and its allies in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Ukraine and other countries has only led to disastrous consequences for the peoples of these countries and the world’s peoples. This is being increasingly recognised by the working class and peace-loving peoples of the world.
There is also growing opposition from the working class and people against the repressive measures carried out in numerous countries in the name of “war against terrorism”. People all over Europe have been moved by the plight of the refugees fleeing from West Asia and North Africa, and have been demanding that their governments admit these refugees into their countries.
In such a situation, the bloody killings in Paris are being now utilized to whip up passions in favour of stepping up military intervention in Syria and other countries, as well as justification for arming the state with further repressive measures.
The Indian people must be aware that imperialist powers on numerous occasions in the past have resorted to what are known as false flag operations to advance their aims. In a false flag operation, firstly, the actual aim of the operation is covered up, and instead another aim is ascribed to it. Furthermore, the real organisers of false flag operations take precaustions to hide their criminal and murderous hands, while deliberately leaving a trail pointing to some other force.
The events in France and other countries must be seen in the backdrop of the US striving for world domination. The US led imperialist alliance, which includes Britain and France, has been unleashing anarchy and violence everywhere to achieve this aim.
The CGPI firmly believes that no country has the right to intervene in another country to carry out regime change. There can be no justification for state terrorism.
