Militant demonstrations were organised on 17th and 20th July in Hanumangarh district headquarters. Former president of Rajasthan Teachers Association (Progressive) (Rajasthan Shikshak Sangh – Pragatisheel), and Vice-President of Lok Raj Sangathan – Guruji Hanuman Prasad Sharma addressed the gathering. Thousands of teachers from the district participated in the demonstrations. They burnt the effigy of the Chief Minister and raised slogans against the anti-people policies of the state government.
Addressing the demonstration, Shri Hanuman Prasad Sharma said that we must step up our struggle against the privatization of education. He also said that whichever education policy is formulated and implemented must be done though wide ranging consultation with teachers, intellectuals and the working class.
The Government of Rajasthan is implementing the policy of privatization and liberalisation through the Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model and this will lower the level of education in the state. It will encourage privatization in education. The struggle waged by the teachers in Rajasthan is a just struggle and Lok Raj Sangathan extends its complete support to the struggle.
