Unite to fight against Odisha Government’s Anti-people Policy

Progressive organisations fighting for people’s rights came together to protest in front of the Odisha Bhavan in New Delhi on 7th July 2015. The protest took place in the light of the Odisha government’s anti-people policy selling land to large corporations. People of Sipasarubali in Puri district have been fighting against the indiscriminate selling of the land by the government to “Developers”.

Organisations that participated in the protest included AIFTU (New), Lok Raj Sangathan, Iqualabi Mazdoor Kendra, Mazdoor Patrika, Mazdoor Ekta Kendra, People’s Front, People’s Democratic Front of India, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chatra Naujavan Sabha, Vikalp, DSF, and Krantikari Yuva Sangathan.

Prakash Rao, Secretary of LRS addressed the protest and spoke of building the rule of the people ‘Lok Raj’ as the only way to ensure dignity and respect for all. He stressed the need for progressive people and organisations to come together to struggle and fight for the rights of the people of the country.
