Youth and Women in Jasola Join the Campaign for Their Rights

The Lok Raj Sangathan led campaign to assert the rights of people of Delhi to civic amenities received a boost with mohalla samitis from Jasola Gaon joining the campaign. LRS activists who have been closely working with community in the area organised a meeting to plan the future course of action.

The meeting started with welcome from Bobby and was facilitated by Chhaya and Poonam who encouraged the women and youth to participate in the meeting and voice their opinion and also provide solution on how to take the struggle forward. Many youth and women came forward and expressed their views. Youth and women volunteered to form a samiti and send a delegation to pursue the memorandum of rights submitted to the chief minister and force the authorities to provide drinking water connectivity in their houses.

Renu Nayak of LRS addressed the gathering and narrated the struggle they had waged for basic rights and the lessons learnt. She stressed the need to get organised and form a samiti to fight for our rights. Lokesh gave an inspiring appeal to the youth to come forward to solve the local problems. The meeting resolved to form a committee to lead the struggle along with LRS and also mobilise others to join.
