Discussion centred on increasing human rights violations by the Indian state in several areas of the country including Jammu&Kashmir, Manipur and others, use of draconian laws such as AFSPA and UAPA, illegal detention of innocent people, attack on right to expression, need to review the Indian Constitution in the light of blatant violation of fundamental rights, etc.
The discussion was chaired by well-known film maker and activist Shri KP Sasi. Several organisations such as Solidarity Youth Movement, INSAF, Students Islamic Organisation, Welfare Party of India, APCR, Lok Raj Sangathan, research scholars, journalists, took part in the discussion.
Shri Raghavan Srinivasan, President of LRS and Prof. Bharat Seth, member of AIC of LRS participated in the discussion.
The group resolved to carry the struggle forward all over the country.
