A letter from Lok Raj Sangathan, to the office of the President, requesting release of the correspondence between former President, the late Shri KR Narayanan, with the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been submitted.
A letter from the Honorary Chairperson of the Lok Raj Sangathan, to the office of the President APJ Kalam, requesting release of the correspondence between former President, the late Shri KR Narayanan, with the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was submitted on January 23, 2006. The request was made under the provisions of the Right to Information Act, in order to assist the work of the lawyers working for the victims of the Gujarat genocide in their submissions before the Nanavati-Shah Commission.
Numerous personalities from all walks of life from all over the country as well as abroad have signed the petition circulated by the Lok Raj Sangathan on the same issue. The signature campaign was carried out in different parts of the country in the universities, factories, residential colonies, and amongst activists’ circles. Many have also signed through the website of the Lok Raj Sangathan. A preliminary consolidated list of these signatories has just been submitted to the office of the President.
ok Raj Sangathan hails the response of the people to this campaign. As soon as the response of the President’s office is know to us, which will be by the third week of February, we will together decide on the next course of action on this question.
