ThumbnailThe Rajasthan government has launched a witch-hunt to arrest and intimidate the leaders of the doctors’ ongoing struggle in that state. On December 15-16 the police cracked down on doctors working in government run hospitals and health care centers in almost all towns and villages across the state. At least 60 doctors were reported to have been picked up from their residences and workplaces and arrested. Many other doctors have been forced to go into hiding to evade arrest.

NEW DELHI: Opening a new avenue for synergy, Aman Ki Asha (AKA) — a joint peace initiative between the Times of India and the Jang group of Pakistan — moved to a higher level of cooperation with a one-day meeting in which health committees of doctors, ministry officials and representatives of pharmaceutical companies resolved to collaborate on certain core issues facing the two countries.

Maharashtra Resident Doctors and Intern Students in Government Hospitals win their demands

4500 resident doctors all over Maharashtra, under the leadership of MARD (Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors) working in the State Government and Municipal Corporation hospitals, along with 3000 interns went on strike on July 7th 2009.
