Consultation on countering hate organised by Citizens Against Hate

On 12th October 2017, the Citizens Against Hate Campaign organised a public consultation during which the fact finding report titled “lynching without end” was released. The report covered stories of lynching and encounter killings across eight Indian states with the maximum number of cases in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The purpose of the report was to find the perpetrators of these hate crimes and the aftermath as well tracing the progress of the corresponding legal cases.

Gauri Lankesh, was shot dead outside her home in Bengaluru yesterday night. She was a senior journalist, activist and had raised voices against the ruling establishment. Ms Lankesh's killing has triggered widespread anger amongst journalists, activists and rights organisations. Many protest meetings have been organized today across the country. Lok Raj Sangathan urges people to unite against all attempts to silence progressive people working for pro-people changes in society. It is only by getting organised and raising our voice that we can ensure that killers and the forces behind them are identified and held accountable for their crimes!

A protest demonstration was organised by individuals, movements and organizations on 22nd February 2016 in front of the Chhattisgarh Bhavan, in New Delhi. The protest was in response to the attack on the Adivasi activist Soni Sori. On Saturday evening while returning to her home in Geedam town, Soni Sori was attacked by two people who forcibly threw a dark greasy substance which burnt her face.

The tragic suicide on January 17, 2016 by Rohith Vemula, a research scholar of Hyderabad Central University, has sparked off widespread protest actions by agitated students in that university as well as in many other campuses across the country. Rohith Vemula was participating in an indefinite day and night dharna along with four other fellow students protesting against their savage persecution by the University authorities.

img_0440.jpg10 जनवरी, 2016 को पूर्वी दिल्ली के पटपड़ गंज इलाके में राजकीय आतंकवाद और बढ़ती सांप्रदायिकता पर एक सभा की गई। यह सभा लोक राज संगठन के द्वारा देशभर में चलाये जा रहे अभियान के तहत की गई थी। सभा में लोक राज संगठन द्वारा तैयार की गई प्रस्तुति को पेश किया गया जिसका विषय था - ज़मीर का अधिकार, हमारा जन्मसिद्ध अधिकार है!, बढ़ते सांप्रदायिक और फासीवादी आतंक का मुकाबला करें!

111.jpgसाम्प्रदायिकता के विषय पर लोक राज संगठन के कार्यकर्ताओं द्वारा डी.टी.इ.ए स्कूल के 12वीं कक्षा के छात्र छाात्राओं के बीच एक प्रस्तुति पेश की गई जिसमें सभी ने बढ़ चढ़ कर हिस्सा लिया । इस प्रस्तुति के माध्यम से बताया गया कि 1857 से लेकर आज तक जो बर्तानवीं उपनिवेशवादियों की देन है उसे किस प्रकार बरकरार रखा गया है। हमारी एकता को तोड़ने के लिए उन्हेाने जाति ,धर्म , लिंग आदि का सहारा लिया था और आज भी उसे बरकरार रखा गया है। कोई भी कांड होता है तो यही दिखाया जाता है कि मुसलमान ने किया ,सरदार ने किया लेकिन मदद करने के लिए ये ही हमारे साथ आते है। हम सब एक साथ रहते है तो फिर कैसे एक पल में दंगे आयोजित होते है। आज भी जब लोग अपने अधिकारों की दिशा में एकजुट होतें है तो उनकी एकता को तोड़ने के लिए दंगों को अंजाम दिया जाता है और पूरा इल्जाम लोगों पर डाला जाता है ।
